Texas Gov Renew Registration 2025 Requirements. As texans, we’re all familiar with the process of renewing our vehicle registration. Beginning january 1, 2025, texas vehicle owners will no longer need to obtain a safety inspection prior to vehicle registration.

Previously, texans could renew expired registrations online up to nine months. For new vehicles from the two most recent model years, a $16.75 fee will be charged for two years.
